Alumni Center Program Assistant
The Iowa State University Alumni Association is currently seeking applications for a Program Assistant II who will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing meetings and events for the Alumni Center. Events may be held by the Alumni Association, University, or the general public and may include such activities as meetings, conferences, wedding ceremonies and receptions, banquets, and special events. This position also coordinates event setup and execution. This position works directly with prospective clients, negotiates contracts/rates, which includes working with vendors and caterers, billing clients, updating and maintaining records (including electronic scheduling system) and preparing event reports for all activities held at the Center.
The successful candidate will possess excellent customer service, public relations, and written and verbal communication skills. The candidate will have the ability to juggle multiple projects concurrently to meet deadlines, solve problems, and make sound decisions. Outstanding organizational skills and strong attention to detail will also be needed in order be effective in this role.
Assistant Director for Constituent Engagement and SALC Advisor
The Iowa State University Alumni Association is seeking candidates for the Assistant Director of Constituent Engagement and SALC Advisor (Alumni Officer I). This position will lead and advise approximately 60 students as part of the Student Alumni Leadership Council (SALC). They will help SALC with their responsibilities for special events, programs, and services. Oversee the committees of Homecoming, Ambassadors, Cyclone Alley and Senior Class Council. Connect students with alumni and prepare them to become volunteer leaders and financial supporters of the Alumni Association and the University. Help transition students to young alumni and become members of the Association. Assist with the Student Alumni Association membership recruitment efforts. Research, analyze, innovate, and direct programs and services towards students, alumni, and ISU friends to encourage loyalty to, pride in, and a stronger connection to the university community.
The successful candidate will have excellent oral and written communication skills, organization skills, and attention to detail. The candidate will also be able to coordinate multiple events and activities at one time. This position requires working some nights and weekends.
