Jerilyn joined the ISU Alumni Association staff in January 2009 and is the program manager for two programs: Osher Lifelong Learning Institute at Iowa State University (OLLI at ISU) and the ISU Retirees Association (ISURA). For the OLLI at ISU program, she oversees and coordinates the work of volunteer committees to provide learning opportunities for all persons aged 50 and older. She works directly with volunteers to design, promote, and administer a variety of classes -- as well as the registration and membership processes. For the ISU Retirees Association, she works with committees made up of retired faculty and staff to provide learning and social opportunities for all ISU retirees and their spouses/partners. This program also plans the yearly Memorial Day ceremony for ISU faculty and staff, along with an annual "Rock On" in Retirement Symposium that is open to the community.

About Jerilyn

Hometown: Burnside, Iowa
Favorite ISU tradition: Running from one side of campus to the other in 10 minutes to get to my next class

Favorite food: Pepperoni pizza is probably at the top, followed by almost any type of pasta
What I like about my job: I am able to use all of my skills to provide learning opportunities for seniors, along with challenging myself to continue learning new things on a daily basis and improving my skills. We are never too old to learn!
In my spare time, I like to: read mysteries, spend time with my family which includes a dog and cat, enjoy the company of friends, and do genealogical research.
Something unique that most people don't know about me: I love fast cars. As a child, I went to the stock car races every weekend in Webster City and later on I enjoyed going to drag racing strips. In high school I was the only female member of the "Burnside Racers" because I had a 1970 Dodge Challenger SE.
