Craig has been employed with Terracon Consultants for more than 43 years. He is a senior principal and senior consultant in the Lenexa, Kan., office, where he mentors younger staff and consults with clients. Craig is completing his fifth four-year term on the Shawnee Mission Board of Education and has served on the Lenexa Parks and Recreation Board since 1995. He has strong ties to Iowa State; he is an ISU Foundation Governor, a member of the Order of the Knoll (Beardshear Society), a member of the CCEE Advisory Council, a member of the College of Engineering Campaign Team during Campaign Iowa State and a member of the Cabinet for the upcoming campaign.
Craig and his late wife, Terry, established the James M. Hoover Chair in Geotechnical Engineering in 2004, two Terry Peterson Denny Scholarships in the College of Human Sciences in 2011, the Craig Kenton Denny Endowed Scholarship to support female undergraduate students in the Department of Civil, Construction and Environmental Engineering in 2013, and the ISUAA Cardinal & Gold Scholarship in the College of Human Sciences in 2014. Following Terry’s untimely death in 2014, Craig completed funding of the ISUAA Board of Directors Cardinal and Gold Leadership/Terry Denny Memorial Scholarship and, in 2015, he made additional gifts to establish the Terry Marie Denny ISUAA Cardinal & Gold College of Engineering Scholarship and to name the School of Education Methods/Literacy Classroom in the newly renovated Lagomarcino Hall in honor of Terry. In April 2016, the ISU Foundation presented the Order of the Knoll Cardinal and Gold Award to Craig and Terry.
