Jim is a founding general partner of Bishop Ranch Veterinary Center, a veterinary hospital that employs 14 veterinarians and 85 support staff. Last year, the practice cared for more than 15,000 families. As a vet student, Jim co-founded the Student Chapter of the AVMA Scamper, a 5K/10K fundraiser fun run that is still being run today. Jim has been an Alumni Ambassador, calling on prospective ISU students for nearly 25 years, and he is a donor to the College of Veterinary Medicine. In 2011, the ISU Foundation bestowed upon him the Emerging Philanthropist Award. He recently served on the Dean Selection Committee for ISU’s College of Veterinary Medicine. Jim teaches communications and business to veterinary students at UC Davis’ College of Veterinary Medicine. In 2011, Jim was appointed as a director of a local community bank, Tri Valley Bank. He has served as a member of the Governance, Finance, and Executive Committees and was a member of the Long-term Financial Sustainability Task Force. He was a member and chair of the Risk Management Task Force, chaired the Alumni Center Oversight Committee, and served as vice chair of records.
