Melvin Weatherwax
 Melvin R. WeatherwaxLife Member Ankeny, Iowa Term expires '11 mrweatherwax@aol.com Mel is retired from a career in operations management for United Parcel Service (UPS). Mel started his UPS career at age 18 while attending Grand View College. His career involved various management assignments ascending to division manager for package distribution for Iowa's statewide UPS operation for 15 years. Mel finished his UPS career in 2000 managing airport operations. He and his wife, Kathy, are members of the Order of the Knoll, National Cyclone Club, and the local Des Moines and Ankeny Cyclone Clubs. Mel and Kathy's family includes daughter Kara '98, son Brian, and five grandchildren. Since retirement, Mel has committed much of his time to volunteer work on behalf of many non-profit, civic, and association groups. He has served on the Governance Committee and Honors and Awards Selection Committee. |
