Scott lives in Seattle, Wash., and works in public relations. Scott formerly served as deputy assistant to the President and deputy White House press secretary for President George W. Bush. He served as a spokesman for President Bush on issues dealing with homeland security, education, agriculture, energy, and the environment. The former Bush-Cheney ’04 national press secretary started his career in Iowa politics as a Dole for President field representative in 1996. He later worked on Rep. Jim Ross Lightfoot’s campaign for Senate and for Sen. Charles Grassley before joining the Bush presidential campaign in 1999. Scott received the Outstanding Young Alumnus Award from the ISU Alumni Association in 2005, and his family was named ISU Family of the Year in 1994. As a student, Scott was involved in the Student Alumni Association (now Student Alumni Leadership Council), VEISHEA, and Phi Delta Theta fraternity. He was a member of Cardinal Key, Mortar Board, Order of Omega, and Kappa Tau Alpha journalism honor society.
