About Shellie

Hometown:
Algona, Iowa
Favorite ISU tradition: VEISHEA. Not only did it mean an awesome party, cherry pies, and warm weather (most of the time), it meant school was almost out! VEISHEA was held much later back in the 80s than it is now.
Favorite food: red licorice
What I like about my job: The staff! We all have so much fun. What better job is there than to promote membership to your alma mater? I enjoy working with the students, too. They definitely keep me on my toes!
In my spare time, I like to: Spare time? What spare time? After running after my four kids and going to their activities, there is very little time for anything else. But somehow I always manage to find time to shop! Then I like to crank the music and go for a run just to get away from it all.
Something unique that most people don't know about me: In 1979 my house was destroyed by a tornado -- and I was in the house! Everyone in my family was injured, but I was the one who ended up in the hospital. It was an experience I will never forget. What I learned: Respect the weather! You never know what it will do next.
