Young Alumni Council Application

Alumni who have graduated from Iowa State University in the past 10 years are invited to apply for the ISU Alumni Association’s (ISUAA) Young Alumni Council (YAC). Over the past year and a half, the inaugural council has started the ball rolling and done some great things for young alumni (graduates of the past 10 years) of Iowa State University.  As we move forward, we hope to produce more great activities and communication pieces specifically for young alumni.

Today, young alumni make up 22.9 percent of the overall alumni body (49,393 of 215,235 living, addressable graduates) and 6.5 percent of our current membership (3,484 of 53,097). The importance of accepting, encouraging, and developing the talents and resources of this young alumni demographic will be key to continued success in promoting Iowa State University and connecting Iowa State alumni with one another.  

• The Young Alumni Council consists of 13 young alumni, two current students and a liaison to the ISUAA Board of Directors
• Council Directors have been chosen from a variety of ages and graduation years within our demographic, and we continue to seek as much diversity as possible
• The Council Directors should be available to meet in Ames two times per year
• Each Council Director will be responsible for costs associated with travel back to Ames, as well as any lodging costs 

With the end of our third full year as an official program of the ISUAA nearing, we are preparing to usher in the next group of outstanding young alumni to assist with our efforts. On July 1st we plan to announce four new directors to the Young Alumni Council.  If you are interested, we would love to see your application!
