Ben, a 2001 graduate of ISU's construction engineering program, is a project manager for strategic initiatives for M.A. Mortenson Company in Seattle, Wash. He recently relocated to the Seattle area from the Twin Cities. Until it disbanded in 2005, he was active with the College of Engineering's GOLD program, which served ISU engineering graduates of the past decade. Ben was extremely involved as an ISU undergraduate student; he served as president of the Government of the Student Body, Freshmen Council, and the Engineering Student Council. A freshmen honors leader, he also served on the Memorial Union's Board of Directors and the presidential search committee that hired current ISU president Gregory Geoffroy. Ben, who recently completed a MBA degree from Duke University, has volunteered with the United Way's Emerging Leaders Program and Common Bond Communities youth mentoring.
