Nate was named philanthropic advisor for the Winthrop University Foundation in July 2008. He previously served as the director of athletic development for the University of North Carolina Asheville. He began his career with Winthrop working for three years in marketing, game management, and development roles for the athletic department. A 2002 graduate of ISU's sport management program, Nate also earned master's degrees (2004) in sport administration and business administration from Ohio University in Athens, Ohio. He served as a student fundraising coordinator and College of Communication graduate assistant at Ohio, in addition to internship positions at the University of Pittsburgh and Iowa State. Nate was a Cyclone football manager from 1999-2001. As an ISU student he was also involved extensively with Student Alumni Leadership Council, the ISU Foundation Student Committee, and the Christina Hixson Opportunity Awards program.
