ISU Alumni Center Dedication

Saturday, Oct. 25 was a sunny day to celebrate during Homecoming 2008. More than 750 alumni, Entering the new ISU Alumni Centerstudents, and friends attended the ISU Alumni Center dedication ceremony at 3 p.m. on the east side of the ISU Alumni Center. ISU President Gregory Geoffroy told the crowd, "Iowa State University has become home for thousands of young people as they begin their life's journey. Now alumni and friends have a home. Welcome home to your new Iowa State University Alumni Center!"

Adam Theis, a senior in agricultural business and president of the Student Alumni Leadership Council, said that the building would benefit ISU students now and in the future. "Students now have a visual icon of alumni on campus," he said. "For both alumni and students, this is a win-win for Iowa State."

Lead donors Roy and Bobbi Reiman addressed the audience, which gave them a huge round of applause for the gift that made a 34-year dream a reality.

"It's a culmination of a lot of dreams," she said. "It surpassed our expectations."
