On Saturday, Oct. 22, 2005, during its annual Homecoming celebration, the Iowa State University Alumni Association broke ground on what will become a "home away from home" for Iowa State alumni, students, and friends for many years to come. The ISU Alumni Center will be located on Beach Ave. near the Iowa State Center in Ames, was made possible thanks to a generous lead gift by Bobbi and Roy Reiman of Greendale, Wis. (pictured, center, with President Gregory Geoffroy and his wife, Kathy, left, and Peggy and Jeff Johnson, ISU Alumni Association president, right)
"Today, we continue our journey toward the realization of a more-than-30-year dream...the Iowa State University Alumni Center will be a place all of us will be able to call home," Johnson told the audience at the groundbreaking ceremony.
