Kelley Bergstrom
BS '65, Industrial Administration
Kenilworth, Ill.
Kelley Bergstrom’s (’65 industrial administration) commitment and dedication to Iowa State University was evident in his leadership as chair of the ISU Foundation Board of Directors. During Bergstrom’s tenure as board chair, the ISU Foundation saw incredible fundraising production growth — from $54.5 million to $83.2 million. His early leadership in Campaign Iowa State: With Pride and Purpose provided the Foundation with the infrastructure needed to help Iowa State raise more than $135 million in fiscal year 2008.
During that same time period, Bergstrom helped guide the ISU Foundation’s response on open public records issues and set the stage for donor privacy legislation. He has served as an ISU Foundation Governor since 1989 and has been on numerous committees, including the investment committee, Campaign Destiny: To Become the Best national committee, Gateway Hotel Board of Directors, and Campaign Iowa State national committee.
Bergstrom is actively involved with the College of Business, serving on the Dean’s Advisory Council for two decades. Bergstrom and his wife, Joan, have been generous benefactors to Iowa State, providing private support to the athletics department, the University Library, and the College of Business. The Kelley and Joan Bergstrom Commons in the Gerdin Business Building is named after them.
Bergstrom is president of Bergstrom Investment Management, LLC. He is a member of the Order of the Knoll W.M. Beardshear Society and the Campanile Society. The College of Business presented its Citation of Achievement award to him in 1992 and its John D. DeVries Service Award in 2006. The Bergstroms are life members of the ISU Alumni Association.
The Bergstroms live in Kenilworth, Ill. They are parents of two children: Allison and Melissa.
