Linda Lloyd 2010

Linda Lloyd

Fort Myers, Fla.

Linda Lloyd is a rare individual who, despite not being a graduate of Iowa State University, exhibits as much pride and dedication to the institution as the most loyal supporter. Lloyd exemplifies belief in action, constantly promoting Iowa State and encouraging others to become equally engaged and supportive.

She is an active member of the College of Veterinary Medicine National Campaign Committee and serves on the executive committee of Campaign Iowa State: With Pride and Purpose. Lloyd and her husband, Dr. W. Eugene Lloyd (D.V.M. ’49; Ph.D. ‘70), have been ardent supporters of the College of Veterinary Medicine, and the Dr. W. Eugene and Linda Lloyd Veterinary Medical Center is named in honor of their many contributions to the college. The couple has also generously created faculty chair and professorship positions within the college.

In addition to her philanthropy, Lloyd has also helped initiate numerous Iowa State alumni events in south Florida and regularly hosts local activities that serve as the front door of Iowa State in the Naples and Fort Myers area.

In addition to her Iowa State-related activities, Lloyd is also an active community leader, serving as a board member of the Shenandoah (Iowa) Healthcare Foundation. She and her husband support the Southwest Iowa Theatre; Shenandoah Music Association; a daycare center in Essex, Iowa; Turnbull Center in Shenandoah; and Nishna Productions.

The Lloyds, who reside in both Shenandoah and Fort Myers, are members of the Order of the Knoll W.M. Beardshear Society and Campanile Society. Gene Lloyd is an ISU Foundation governor. They are lifetime members of the ISU Alumni Association.
