Rod French 2010

Rod L. French
Des Moines, Iowa
While Rod French may not have graduated from Iowa State University, he can easily be classified as a super fan. French has been a friend of Iowa State for more than 30 years and began supporting Cyclone athletics in the 1970s.
That support continued through his leadership gift to establish the Rod and Connie French Athletic Academic Center in the Hixson-Lied Student Success Center. This gift has and will continue to make a significant impact on the lives of more than 400 student-athletes through support provided by the center in all areas of academics and life skills.
French’s generosity and loyal support over the years has also included providing gifts for scholarships, the Iowa State Hockey Club, and the construction of Jack Trice Stadium and the Jacobson Athletic Building.
The president and CEO of Kenworth Mid-Iowa, Inc., a Kenworth truck dealership, French lives in Des Moines with his wife, Connie, a retired executive of Mercy Medical Center. The couple was named Cy’s Favorite Alums in 2005. The Frenches are members of the Order of the Knoll W.M. Beardshear Society and Campanile Society.
