Donald Jordahl 2009
Donald H. Jordahl BS Agricultural Education ’58 The founder, former publisher, and owner of Iowa Banking Magazine, Jordahl is passionate about many endeavors – but his true passion is Iowa State University. He served on the Alumni Association’s board of directors from 1991-1996 and currently serves as the association’s representative to the ISU Athletics Council. He was a member of the Alumni Days 2008 reunion planning committee with fellow members of the class of 1958, and he hosts an annual barbecue and networking event at his farm in West Des Moines. This year’s “Cy’s Country Barbecue” attracted more than 150 alumni and friends to his home and beautiful property on which he has a vintage 110-year-old wooden peg barn and an authentic 1870s log cabin. Most recently, Jordahl provided the funding for a bronze casting of The 4-H Calf by sculptor Christian Petersen to be installed in the ISU Alumni Center. Artist-In-Residence Petersen sculpted at Iowa State from 1934-1955. Jordahl is a lifetime member and board associate of the ISU Alumni Association, as well as a member of the Order of the Knoll and the Cyclone Club. |
