Glen Mente, who retired as senior vice president of Kent Feeds in Muscatine, Iowa, has been a tireless supporter of Iowa State for more than 40 years. Never was leadership more graciously given. The Alumni Association benefited from his leadership as a member and president of the Board of Directors and from his involvement on its executive, finance, trusteeship, legislative, and strategic planning committees. Mente is currently serving the Alumni Association as chair of The Circle, an organization of all former Alumni Association leaders, and is a member of the 125th Anniversary Steering Committee. The ISU Foundation has benefited from his involvement as a member of its Board of Directors, Keystone Society, Order of The Knoll, and as a Governor. He served as president of the Iowa 4-H Foundation and received the State 4-H Alumni Award.
As a student, Mente was a member of the Cyclone basketball team. He continues his love of athletics through attendance and support. He and his wife, Mary Jo, have established an endowed scholarship for an ISU men’s or women’s basketball player. He is a Gold Plus member of the National Cyclone Club, a director for the Story County National Cyclone Club, a life member of the ISU Letterman’s Club, a Reiman Gardens cohort, and volunteer and director of the Iowa Games.
Mente is a lifetime member of the ISU Alumni Association.
