Lynn M. Ross, AICP, has been the director of state and local initiatives for the National Housing Conference and the Center for Housing Policy in Washington, D.C., since 2007. She is responsible for developing and executing these organizations’ education, outreach, and technical assistance strategies aimed at strengthening state and local housing policies. Among her recent accomplishments, Ross organized the Solutions for Working Families: 2009 Learning Conference on State and Local Housing Policy in Chicago, which was attended by more than 400 leaders from across the nation in June.

Ross previously was the manager of the American Planning Association’s (APA) Planning Advisory Service in Chicago. There she oversaw a staff of seven planners and support personnel charged with providing customized planning research to more than 1,200 planning agencies, consultants, and educational institutions. While with the APA, Ross also was the assistant editor of Planning and Urban Design Standards (John Wiley and Sons, 2006), a comprehensive reference book used throughout the U.S.

Ross received a master of regional planning degree from Cornell University in 2001. She is a member of the APA and the American Institute of Certified Planners and serves on the ISU Department of Community and Regional Planning’s Planning Advisory Council. She is a life member of the ISU Alumni Association.
