Craig Adamson

Craig A. Adamson

BS Community and Regional Planning 1996
Marion, Iowa

Craig Adamson’s passion for Iowa State University is fully alive. Adamson developed his passion for ISU while an active student leader involved with ISU’s Student Ambassadors and Senior Class Council. He also held a GSB senate seat, led the CRP Club, became a “Big Brother,” coached youth basketball, and held nearly every major office while a member of Sigma Nu Fraternity.

Today, as the ISU Alumni Association Club of Linn County’s  president, he leads the efforts to reach out to Linn County’s 4,000 alumni, plus friends and fans of Iowa State. A long-time member of the National Cyclone Club, Craig has also been actively involved in the Cedar Valley Cyclone Club (CVCC). He is a sponsor for the annual coaches’ golf outing and coaches’ banquets. By serving on the boards of both clubs, Adamson is actively promoting “Cyclone Fever” by strengthening the ties between the groups. Nominators say he is constantly creating new event opportunities to increase the number of lives the clubs can touch, and that he is passionate about encouraging others to become members of their alumni association. Adamson also recruits local students for Iowa State as an Alumni Ambassador.

In addition to his service to Iowa State, Craig owns Adamson Financial Planning. He is a member of the Financial Planning Association and holds a Certified Retirement Plans Specialist designation (CRPS). He is an active Chamber of Commerce member in Marion, Cedar Rapids, Waterloo, and Cedar Falls. Due to his passion for promoting economic growth in Iowa he has been actively involved with stopping the local landfill expansion and promoting landfill alternatives as a member of Ensuring Marion’s Future. Adamson also serves on the Marion Planning and Zoning Commission.

Craig and his wife, Ann, are annual members of the ISU Alumni Association.
