Katherine Hallenbeck 2010

Katherine E. Hallenbeck

BS Management Information Systems & Finance ’02
Chicago, Ill.

Katherine Hallenbeck is a remarkable leader for a remarkable community of Iowa State alumni. As co-president of the ISU Alumni Association Club of Chicago with Tanya Davidson Skelton (graphic design '98), Hallenbeck has grown the club in many ways—in its breadth, scope, size, and overall participation.

One of Hallenbeck’s strongest abilities as a club leader, her nominators agree, is her ability to build consensus, create a team atmosphere, and motivate and empower others. Her ability to delegate responsibility has led to a more engaged club leadership team and the creation of a variety of new and different events that have enhanced and expanded ISU’s alumni presence in the greater Chicago area. Among the events Hallenbeck has coordinated or co-coordinated for the club are gamewatches, a miniature golf outing, White Sox baseball outings, a local Nadas concert event, happy hours, a CIA job fair, bowling fundraisers, and Cyclone basketball events.

In addition to her outstanding volunteer outreach on behalf of the ISUAA Club of Chicago, Hallenbeck is the treasurer of the Kappa Delta Sorority Lakeside Alumni Association and a member of Kappa Delta Sorority’s Sigma Sigma Chapter Stately Mansions Steering Committee. She works as an assistant vice president for Bank of America in Chicago and received the 2008 Bank of America Spirit Medallion.

Hallenbeck, who earned her MBA in 2008 from DePaul University, is a lifetime member of the ISU Alumni Association.
