Lawrence Cunningham

BLS Liberal Studies ’02

Lawrence Cunningham’s enthusiasm for Iowa State University didn’t end after his student days wearing the Cy mascot uniform. He has continued to show dedicated and enthusiastic support for his alma mater as an alumni volunteer of the highest caliber.

Cunningham, who currently works as an account executive for Learfield Communications/Cyclone Sports Properties in West Des Moines, is past chair of the ISU Alumni Association’s Young Alumni Council and brought contagious enthusiasm to the position, which combined his passion for young professionals activities and ISU alumni activities.

Cunningham is a past executive board member for the Young Professionals of Iowa and the Young Professionals of Ames and is currently the regional job ambassador for Young Professionals of Iowa and community service co-chair for Rotary Club of Greater Des Moines. He is active with the ISU Alumni Association as a life member and with the Sigma Alpha Epsilon Central Iowa Alumni Association, as well as the Cyclone Club. Cunningham has previously served on the Iowa State Daily Publication Board and the Iowa State Greek Alumni Alliance.

While recently working in Boulder, Colo., for Learfield Communications, Cunningham was named a Boulder Chamber of Commerce 2009 Member of Distinction. He started “2140,” the first-ever young professionals group in the Boulder area, which today boasts 500 paid members.

Cunningham and his wife, Brandy (M.Ed. ’04 higher ed), live in Des Moines.
