Ryan Schon 2008

Ryan J. Schon
BS Agronomy ’95
O’Fallon, Mo.
Last year the ISU Alumni Association Club of Saint Louis made a leadership change for the first time in 10 years. Members and advisors knew it would be important to find an enthusiastic leader to move the club forward, and they didn’t have to look far to find one in Ryan Schon.
From 2000-2002, Schon served as an ISU Ambassador and as a board member for the ISUAA club before briefly moving away. When he returned to Saint Louis in 2005, he jumped right back into the club and has since worked diligently and passionately to plan special events for alumni and friends in the area, including the 2007 Mizzou Migration tailgate in Columbia, Mo., and “An Evening with Jeff Johnson” last spring. His events always focus on bringing the Iowa State experience alive for alumni, and he has consistently and successfully cultivated Alumni Association membership through his efforts. Schon has truly been an enthusiastic advocate for his alma mater.
In addition to his work with the club, Schon has been involved in his community through Relay for Life, ICD Church, 4-H, and Adventure Guides. He and his wife, Meg ’98, are lifetime members of the ISU Alumni Association and have four children: Dani, Andrew, Emily, and Jacob.
