Kent Lucken 2003
Kent A. Lucken BA 1986, Political Science Newton, Mass. Kent Lucken, vice president of The Citigroup Private Bank, is responsible for providing global wealth management services to families and private companies throughout New England, with services that include investment management, trust, credit, and capital market capabilities. Before joining Citigroup, Lucken was a program director with the U.S. Department of State’s Bureau of European Affairs, and for eight years he served as a diplomat at the U.S. Embassies in Slovenia, Croatia, Georgia, Russia, and Italy. He has been called one of the stars of U.S. government service, providing leadership in areas of the world that were fragile and precarious. Lucken’s job was to identify sources of regional instability, and to develop ways of resolving international problems. The U.S. Department of State has awarded him numerous superior honor awards. He is a loyal ambassador to Iowa State, co-founding the ISU alumni chapter in Washington, D.C., serving as an ambassador for Admissions, and establishing the Kent and Kristen Lucken Fund for the ISU Political Science Department to support student travel to national conferences. He is also an active supporter of his other alma mater, the Harvard University Kennedy School of Government, where he helped develop a vital alumni network. He is a lifetime member of the ISU Alumni Association and a member of the Order of The Knoll. |
