Tracy L. Summers

Tracy Summers is a senior program manager for the medical device company Medtronic, where she is currently responsible for all Cardiac Rhythm Disease Management Brady Product Development. Among the many experiences in her 17-year career with the company, Summers has led Medtronic’s enabling design technology and memory development groups and worked with a “wafer fab transfer project” team that received both the Cardiac Rhythm Disease Management Star of Excellence and the Medtronic Star of Excellence awards.
On top of her great technical ability, Summers is known throughout Medtronic, Inc., for her outstanding leadership qualities. In addition to being an exemplary manager, she has led the company’s bi-annual Quality Day event, was part of a team that devised a new business quality management system for the Phoenix campus (this team also received both the 2011 Cardiac Rhythm Disease Management Star of Excellence and the 2011 Medtronic Star of Excellence awards), and received the 2008 Medtronic Mission in Motion Momentum Award for her community service. Among the organizations that have benefited from her volunteer service are Phoenix Heart Walk, Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure, Arizona Animal Welfare League, Diversity Leadership Alliance, Hands on Greater Phoenix, and the Phoenix Animal Care Coalition.
Summers, who has received both a master’s degree and M.B.A. from Arizona State University, was the recipient of the ISU College of Engineering’s Professional Progress in Engineering Award in 2003 and of the department of electrical and computer engineering’s Engineering Impact Award in 2009. She is married to Jerry Summers (’93 chem engr).
Summers is an ISU Alumni Association lifetime member.
