LeClaire, Iowa With a breadth of experience and a superb management style that is admired by peers and advisors alike, Andrew Nelson is on track to become an alumnus of impact at Iowa State University. The current president of the Interfraternity Council (IFC) and former president of Theta Chi Fraternity has displayed consistent commitment to and enthusiasm for Iowa State University. In addition to his duties with IFC and Theta Chi, Nelson is the operations manager for the spring 2007 Engineering Career Fair and a member of the ISU Foundation Student committee. He is a member of Materials Advantage and the director of Greek Week Olympics. Other organizations with which he has been actively involved during his time as a student include Engineers’ Week, the Iowa State University Honors Program, VEISHEA, Dance Marathon, ISU Ambassadors, and Freshmen Council. Last year alone, he received the Tau Beta Pi Engineering Honors Society Campbell Scholarship, was named Interfraternity Council Fraternity President of the Year, was a Homecoming Cardinal Court scholarship finalist, and was named ISU’s Outstanding Student Leader by both VEISHEA and the Government of the Student Body. Nelson has received the ISU College of Engineering Scholarship in each of the last three years, and he was a finalist for Theta Chi National Man of the Year in 2005-2006. He is a student member of the ISU Alumni Association. |
