Ramsey Tesdell 2006Ramsey Tesdell
Slater, Iowa Ramsey Tesdell’s talent for embracing global perspectives while striving to advance his local community has made him one of ISU’s most outstanding student leaders. A native of Slater, Iowa, Tesdell has served as a Student Admissions Representative and a Destination Iowa State team leader. He served as president of the Society for Technical Communication and is on the steering committee for the student organization Time for Peace, having personally organized the week-long “Where’s the Love?” campaign on campus. Tesdell is a member of the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences’ Diversity Committee and is on the editorial board of the Iowa State Daily, for which he also writes a weekly column. He is also a member of the Studio for New Media, the Commission of Principles at Iowa State, and the ISU Committee on Lectures. Tesdell has done numerous video projects for Iowa State, including new university promotional videos. He has received numerous awards, including the ISU Homecoming Achievement Scholarship, Minority Student Affairs’ Director Award, the Gib and Nancy Stanek Leadership Award, and the Junior Leadership Award. He is a member of the LAS Honors Program and has studied abroad in Cairo, Egypt; a Rotary scholarship will send him to study in Israel upon graduation. Tesdell has extensive interest and involvement in music, computers and Web design, video production, soccer and soccer officiating, and has been on numerous international service trips. Tesdell has been a Freshman Honors Program group leader and previously chaired the International Week Multicultural Fashion/Dance Night. |
