Samantha Clark 2009

Samantha L. Clark

Decorah, Iowa

Samantha Clark loves challenges, and she has consistently accepted and tackled them throughout her career at Iowa State University. Her academic success in the political science department and involvement in College Republicans, ISU Political Science Club, and ISU Pre-Law Club led her to successful internships in the Office of the Assistant Secretary of Defense for Homeland Defense and Defense Support to Civil Authorities and with Romney for President, Inc. During the 2008 Iowa Caucus season, the chair/president of College Republicans organized “Cyclones for Romney” and was a caucus leader liaison for ABC News. In addition to her professional experiences in political science, Clark’s campus involvement has been extensive; she is an associate justice on the Government of the Student Body’s Supreme Court and a justice on the All Greek Judicial Board. She is philanthropy co-chair for her sorority, Alpha Gamma Delta, and has been involved in ISU Dance Marathon, Family Weekend Central Committee, Team Coed, Varieties, and Keep Iowa State Beautiful. Since an injury ended her collegiate diving career, Clark has given back by serving as a volunteer youth coach and mentor in the Ames community, as well as a volunteer with the 10,000 Hours Show to promote community service in Ames and Des Moines. She is also an undergraduate fellow in the ISU Writing Center. A former recipient of the Wal-Mart Corporation Community Service and Leadership Award, Clark is a member of seven honor societies who serves as the vice president of selections for Mortar Board National Honor Society’s Executive Board. She is a member of the Student Alumni Association.
