Emily Ambrose

Emily Ambrose

Emily Ambrose’s goal after she graduates is to work in student affairs at a college or university – and it’s difficult to find anything more that she could have done to insure that she will land a topnotch job. In a variety of capacities and roles, she has positively influenced her peers, under-classmates, and even elementary and high school students. She is vitally interested in health issues, and has used her interest to help her peers learn about and experience healthy living.

As an academic resource coordinator in Maple Hall, she directly affected the lives of more than 120 residents during her two-year tenure. As a leader in the Freshman Honors Program and College of Education Honors Program, she helped coordinate experiences of some of Iowa State’s brightest students. She was selected to serve on the Iowa First Lady’s Committee on Young Women’s Health, which culminated in the Young Women’s Health Fest. She coordinated a campus-wide health fair as a member of the Student Health Advisory Committee on eating disorders. Her enthusiasm and considerable wisdom have extended outside the borders of Iowa State, through organizing running teams for the American Cancer Society, mentoring special-needs students, and teaching young children how to swim.
