Julie Hemann

A promoter and supporter of Iowa State University, Julie Hemann was involved with STARS: Student Admissions Representatives from Spring 2002 to Spring 2003 after serving as a team leader for Destination Iowa State in Fall 2001 and Fall 2002. Hemann, a dietetics major, currently serves as a Food Science and Human Nutrition Learning Community peer mentor for 30 first-year students and is president of the ISU Nutrition Club. She has been actively involved with residence hall government, including stints as Starbuck House Secretary and Willow Hall Treasurer. She was a VEISHEA parade aide in Spring 2001 and assisted on ISU’s successful initiative to create the world’s largest Rice Krispies® Treat. In addition to her campus involvement, Hemann has also served as Eucharistic Minister and Hospitality Minister for St. Thomas Aquinas Church and performed volunteer work for the Veggie Grant Program, Meals on Wheels, Y-Pals, and the Iowa Dietetic Association.
