Meet the Bloggers
Meet our Bloggers![]() Kate "The one to blame for this" Kate has worked for the ISUAA since November 2003. Her current title is Associate Director of Communications, which involves coordinating this blog (among other less fun but more important things). She is perhaps best known in alumni circles for recently modeling a nightshirt and slippers for the Alumni Collection. She used to be the only member of the ISUAA staff with the initials "K.B.," so she still signs things that way and confuses the heck out of everyone. He has been the ISUAA president since 1999. Among his most noteworthy achievements is getting his head stuck in a curtain wall at the International House of Pancakes. Carole, who first joined the Alumni Association staff in 1997, once caught an Alaskan salmon with her bare hands. A native of Otley, Iowa, Kurt lived in a fraternity that was twice the size of his hometown while he was an ISU student. Kurt's initials are K.B. She's sat through many halftimes as a Cyclone fanatic, and she works for the ISUAA on a half-time basis to allow her ample time for driving her two children, and often their assorted friends, around Ames. Deanne grew up on a farm in western Iowa and was a 4-H-er for nine years. View Deanne's CySpace profile ![]() Katie "Yet another blogger with the initials K.B." Katie, who has a super long job title, began working for the ISUAA's outreach and events team in January 2008. In addition to being a member of the winning 2008 Cy's House of Trivia team, she also won her eighth grade spelling bee and was the Reserve Grand Champion for her mallard ducks at the 1994 Jasper County Fair. Upon graduation, her peers at Colfax-Mingo High School voted the her "Oldest Looking" member of the senior class. She already has a job lined up with General Mills in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. In the meantime, Ashley is learning to play the Campanile. "It's one of my favorite traditions," she said.
