Class Gift Information
Class of 1957 Scholarship Endowment
Why support Iowa State Students? Iowa State University carries a strong tradition of helping students from different backgrounds attend college. Financial support in the form of scholarships is a major factor in providing that assistance. Establishing a scholarship endowment in the class’ name will be a way for you to make an ongoing difference in the lives of ISU students – today and tomorrow.
An endowed scholarship established by the Class of 1957 will provide ongoing support in perpetuity – only a percentage of the gift earnings, minus an administrative fee, is used to provide the award. This ensures the principal of the endowment, along with any unspent earnings, remains to allow the scholarship to grow in perpetuity.
We have already met and now focusing on continuing to exceed this year's goal of $75,000. This will provide an annual award of at least $3,100 – an award that will have a significant impact upon an ISU student’s ability to pay for tuition and fees for one year.
The creation of this fund will also give class members an opportunity to continue making gifts toward this fund long after the reunion is over. Thus, the fund could continue growing in the future, depending on future gifts made by donors.
The Class of 1957 Scholarship Fund also meets one of the University’s highest priorities – additional scholarship support for students. Thank you for your interest in honoring our class during its 50th year with a gift to support the Class of 1957 Scholarship Fund.
