Alumni Days DVD
Alumni Days DVDAs the 100th anniversary class of Iowa State College, our class buried a time capsule containing historical documents near the steps of Beardshear Hall in 1958. During our 50th reunion, that capsule will be opened, examined, and additional current documents added. The capsule will then be resealed, to be opened by the Iowa State Class of 2058. These activities, among others, will be documented in the Class of 1958 DVD. The DVD is included as part of the Class of 1958 registration fee and is also available for purchase to all other attendees. The 1958 time capsule contains a 16mm film copy of the Centennial Film titled Democracy's College. Your DVD will include a copy of that original film in addition to scenes from other films and videos produced at Iowa State over the past 50 years. This material includes the dramatic growth of the campus during the presidencies of James Hilton and Robert Parks. Celebrating 150 years, an overview of Iowa State University today will be included, featuring new facilities and programs. Also included will be documentary footage of our 50th reunion events, including the banquets, programs, and interviews with...who knows? Perhaps you and some of your friends! The DVD is being produced by ISU Information Technology Services under the direction of our 1958 classmate, Robert Lindemeyer, who spent 30 years at Iowa State in media development. Following editing and duplication, copies of the Class of 1958 DVD will be mailed to all 1958 reunion attendees and those who purchased the DVD. |
