Career Mindfulness as Part of the Volunteer Experience
The benefits of volunteering are endless, but why not think about your volunteerism as a way to explore, develop and share your professional expertise? Volunteering can diversify his/her resume, allow a novice professional to try something new, those in-between jobs to keep their skills polished, the mid-career professional may find new challenges and an opportunities to network, and a retired alumnus can share their expertise and knowledge. Being mindful of professional development when volunteering can allow for growth, engagement, mentoring, and endless opportunities. Cindy Meis, Associate Director of Alumni Career Services and Networks with the Pomerantz Career Center at the University of Iowa, will use her experience in marketing, client services, and career development strategies to help the audience more thoughtfully consider how they spend their volunteer time.

The presentation theme focused on what you know, who you know and who knows you, will help you be both a giver and a receiver in a world of interconnected associations. Join Victoria L.
