At the ISU Alumni Association and ISU Foundation’s standing-room-only spirit rally before ISU’s women’s basketball game vs. Texas Tech Wednesday at Municipal Auditorium, Cyclone fans gathered to fire up for the game. While Wednesday’s nail-biter did not have as exhilarating an outcome as Tuesday’s, the ISU fans were loud and proud in K.C. for the 2005 Big 12 tourney.

Day three in KC was full of men’s basketball action, as the Cyclone men’s team opened tourney play at Kemper Arena with a 20-point win over 12 th-seeded Baylor. Once again, the ISU Alumni Association and ISU Foundation sponsored the pregame Cyclone spirit rally. About 1,000 fans enjoyed Cardinal and Gold camaraderie, snacks and drinks, Cyclone aerobics, and lots of fun at the American Royal complex.

Friday proved to be the final Cyclone day in Kansas City, as the men's team suffered a tough loss to fourth-seeded Texas Tech and wrapped up play. However, at the ISU spirit rally Friday morning, ISU assistant men's basketball coach Damon Archibald encouraged fans to watch the Selection Sunday program March 13 to see where ISU would be seeded in the Big Dance. Some fans from other schools admitted they were sorry to see ISU leave the tourney; fans from schools such as Missouri and Kansas who attended ISU's spirit rally declared, "You guys throw the best parties!"
