ISU Visits Chicago, February 2004

The ISU Alumni Association and the Colleges of LAS, Business, Engineering, and FCS brought Iowa State University to Chicago the weekend of February 21-22. The Colleges of LAS, Business, and Engineering hosted a basketball gamewatch for the men's and women's games on Saturday, February 21, at Joe's Sports Bar. Sixty-five people attended and enjoyed free food, beverages, door prizes, and lots of ISU spirit. On Sunday, February 22, President Geoffroy and the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences hosted the President's Concert, featuring Simon Estes, the Iowa State Singers, ISU Wind Ensemble, and the ISU Symphony Orchestra. The student performances were phenomenal.

More than 300 alumni, parents, and friends attended the concert. Afterward, the ISU Alumni Association and the ISU Alumni Association Club of Chicago sponsored a dessert reception. President and Mrs. Geoffroy, Dean Melsa, Interim Dean Whiteford and Interim Dean White mingled with more than 75 guests while sharing stories about Iowa State. The weekend proved to be a huge success and a great way to showcase Iowa State to our alumni and parents living in the Chicago area.
