Class Gifts
Class Gifts

As each newly graduating class exits Iowa State University, 1876cthey leave behind a thank-you gift of sorts. This has been the tradition since the very first class accepted their diplomas in 1876.

Each gift is presented to the University during a ceremony or at Alumni Days. Many gifts represent a memory during the time the students were here and others are long-lasting tributes.

Gifts also vary in expense, location and type. Some classes raise thousands of dollars to give towards scholarships and loan funds, others raise money to help renovate buildings that would have otherwise gone untouched. Some classes dedicated their gift to faculty or staff who have stood out to all the students as someone remarkable.

Each gift is a genuine reflection of the varying amount of years one spends at Iowa State before moving on with their immense knowledge. Every year a new gift is opened to the University which is thoughtful, unique and sincere.

No one gift is the best or most respected, as all are seen throughout campus, sometimes unbeknownst. Each class listed below has taken the time to present at least one gift to the University, and they are all chronicled through stories and photos.
