Traditions of Iowa State

Lancelot and ElaineLancelot and ElaineThere’s something about traditions that is a little magical. Sometimes they sneak up on us, and we don’t fully realize we are under the iron grip of a tradition until someone tries to change it. Each family has its own traditions, and some of us are a little bewildered about how our own family’s traditions began. Why do some things catch on and become traditions, while others flounder and disappear? It’s a mystery. Like all families, Iowa State has its own set of traditions. Some have been with us for a very long time. Some of them we understand, and some we don’t. (But we accept them anyway!)
