ISU Research and Demonstration Farms and the Department of Horticulture would like to invite you to help us celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Horticulture Research Station. On September 16, 2017 at 12:30 pm we will be opening the gates to our alumni and friends so come enjoy farm tours, apple demonstrations, kids' games, and a special program hosted by Horticulture Department Chair Jeff Iles and Iowa Public Radio’s Charity Nebbe. It will be a time to celebrate the many accomplishments that have come from the station, enjoy the station’s beautiful fall landscape, and learn about the latest horticulture research. It will also be a good chance to reconnect and reminisce with old friends.
This event is open and free to the public.
The Horticulture Research Station is located 6 miles north of Ames at 55519 170th street Ames, Iowa 50010.
12:30 p.m. – gates open
1:00 – 4:30 p.m. Farmer’s market and Kids games
1:00 – 3:00 p.m. Apple grading and produce washer demonstration by ISU’s Horticulture Club
1:00 – 3:00 p.m. Farm tours lead by farm staff and grad students
3:00 – 3:45 p.m. Program featuring Dr. Jeff Iles and IPR’s Charity Nebbe
