Trey Hemmingsen is a hands-on volunteer who has fomented meaningful development in a number of Iowa State University alumni initiatives – from the Alumni Association clubs program to the Young Alumni Council.

Hemmingsen works as a senior extended service specialist for ServiceSource International, but he has devoted significant time to supporting his Alumni Association since becoming part of the alumni family in 2011. While living in Denver, Colo., he was very active and successful as the local club’s marketing coordinator. Building on the experience he gained in Denver, Hemmingsen recently launched and became president of the new ISU Alumni Association Club of Boston; in just six months, he was able to secure a permanent gamewatch location and plan multiple events. None of these outreach efforts existed before Hemmingsen moved to the area in 2014.

In July 2014, Hemmingsen was also selected to join the Alumni Association’s Young Alumni Council and became an active participant on its membership committee. He participated in the group’s lapsed member outreach efforts and worked to shift the focus of the effort from phone calls to postcards, which the group has found to be a more effective method of engaging young graduates. He was also active in planning the group’s annual membership drive. Because of his strong service record in his first year on YAC, Hemmingsen was recently elected to serve as the organization’s 2015-2016 vice chair, overseeing the newly-formed engagement and outreach committee.

As a student, Hemmingsen was active with the Iowa State Daily and the ISU Advertising Club. He has received multiple awards for his advertising campaigns.

Hemmingsen is a life member of the ISU Alumni Association.
