Allison Pitz is one of Iowa State University’s most visible, active, and effective ambassadors. As a Cyclone Aide, she has served as the front door to our university for thousands of families. And as general co-chair of the Student Alumni Leadership Council’s Homecoming Central Committee, she has engaged thousands of alumni and community members in the traditions of Iowa State.
Allison began her involvement with Cyclone Aides in 2014 and was quickly promoted to the advanced leadership position of Cyclone Aide Advisor. Among her achievements was working with the Prize Patrol marketing committee to solicit more than $300,000 in donations, planning leadership seminars and training for Cyclone Aides, and facilitating five new diversity sessions for students participating in Destination Iowa State.
Allison joined the Homecoming Central Committee in 2014 as co-chair for alumni relations and community service. As with Cyclone Aides, she stood out immediately for her marketing, communications, business, and problem-solving abilities. She was elected general co-chair of the committee in spring 2016 and went on to plan one of the most successful Homecoming celebrations in university history – including the return of a community parade.
Among the other campus organizations with which Allison is involved are Cardinal Key Honor Society, Iowa State Singers, Pi Beta Phi Fraternity, the Gamma Sigma Alpha honor society, Dance Marathon, and the Gerdin Citizenship Program.
She is a Student Alumni Association member.
