Angadbir Singh Sabherwal is a scholar and leader of the highest caliber. He is an Alpha Lambda Delta, Tau Beta Pi, and Phi Eta Sigma honor student who has been recognized by such organizations as the International Leadership in Education and Academic Diversity; Global Educational & Leadership Foundation; the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating, and Air-Conditioning Engineers; the ISU College of Engineering; the Hesselbein Global Leadership Academy honoring the top 50 student leaders in the world; and ISU’s Live Green initiative various projects, including a sustainable trash compaction solution in the Philippines. In 2015, he was named one of the 12 “New Faces of Engineering” as nominated by the American Society of Mechanical Engineers, was ISU's eighth-ever recipients of the prestigious Sesquicentennial Learning to Live a Life Leadership Award and was the only student to speak on quality engineering at the annual Deming Conference.
A four-year member of ISU’s International Student Ambassadors, Angad last fall became the first international student ever named to the university’s Homecoming Court. He has completed four undergraduate internships, a study abroad program in China, and has worked as an undergraduate research assistant, undergraduate teaching assistant, student consultant, Iowa State Daily board member, and as a community advisor in ISU’s residence halls. He has participated in countless community service and volunteer projects both on and off campus, and is currently working on a global book and social entrepreneurial idea.
He is a Student Alumni Association member.
