2012 Commencement Reception

The ISU Alumni Center is in the ideal location for a graduation celebration; come join us and celebrate your achievement as we welcome you to the ISU alumni family.

  • This event is open to everyone, regardless alumni or ISUAA member status, and is free of charge for all 2012 graduates and their guests.
  • Refreshments will be served and a Hickory Park catered meal is available for pre-order now through April 27
  • Mingle with your fellow grads and their families
  • Take advantage of some great photo opportunities while you're here. There will be a staged area in the ISU Alumni Center to take family photos; a volunteer will be available to use your camera to capture the moment. You can also take your picture with mascot Cy or with our bronze Cy replica outside the ISU Alumni Center.
  • Take a tour of the ISU Alumni Center and get information about ISU Alumni Association programs, Young Alumni Council, and rental opportunities in the building.
  • Shop for exclusive ISUAA gifts -- watches, neckties, collectibles, and more

Parking:

Parking will be available on a first-come basis in the Iowa State Center parking lot east of the ISU Alumni Center in Lot A2, but you can probably walk over from Hilton (see below for walking directions). Handicap-accessible parking spots are available on both the east and west sides of the ISU Alumni Center.

Walking directions to the ISU Alumni Center from Hilton Coliseum:

Exit Hilton using the west or south doors. Cross Center Drive and cut through the Iowa State Center parking lot A2. Follow the crowd up the staircase through the second floor entrance. Handicap-accessible entrance is located on the ground level.

Driving directions to the ISU Alumni Center:

From the South:
 Take 1-35 N to Exit 111B
 Take Exit 146 (University Blvd)
 Continue on University Blvd to South Fourth Street
 Take the 3rd drive into the Parking Lot and park in Section A-2

From the North:
 Take 1-35 S to Exit 111B
 Take Exit 146 (University Blvd)
 Continue on University Blvd to South Fourth Street
 Take the 3rd drive into the Parking Lot and park in Section A-2

From the West:
 Take 1-80 E
 Bear right onto 1-35N
 Take Exit 137B (1-35N to Minneapolis)
 Take 1-35 N to Exit 111B
 Take Exit 146 (University Blvd)
 Continue on University Blvd to South Fourth Street
 Take the 3rd drive into the Parking Lot and park in Section A-2

From the East:
 Take 1-80 W (to Des Moines)
 Take Exit 137B (1-35N to Minneapolis)
 Take 1-35 N to Exit 111B
 Take Exit 146 (University Blvd)
 Continue on University Blvd to South Fourth Street
 Take the 3rd drive into the Parking Lot and park in Section A-2
