The ISU Retiree Association’s 9th annual “Rock On in Retirement” symposium will be online this year.
The program is set to begin at 8:30 a.m. CT on Wednesday, November 10 via Zoom. The half-day event will include three keynote speakers, information from sponsors and vendors, drawings for prizes donated by generous businesses, special activities during breaks, and an opportunity to ask your own questions of the speakers.
This year’s topic is Moving On in a Post Pandemic World, focusing on mental wellbeing. The program will look at how we and our families face challenges of the pandemic, what we have learned from it, and resources that can help us move forward.
Our speakers will share information on these topics:
- How to Boost Your Resiliency as a Retiree—Post Pandemic: Connie Bleile, LISW Therapist, Behavioral Services, MercyOne North Iowa Medical Center, Mason City, Iowa
- Grandparenting in a Pandemic: Barbara Dunn Swanson, Human Science Specialist, Family Life, Iowa State University Extension and Outreach
- Wellbeing strategies, tools, and resources for moving forward in a post-pandemic world: Sue Tew-Warming, M.Ed., CIC®, Human Resources, Iowa State University
