IOWA STATER BOOK CLUB

Participate in Iowa Stater Book Club --sponsored by alumni-owned Dog-Eared Books of Ames -- this spring! Iowa Stater is the exclusive magazine of Iowa State University Alumni Association members, and book club participants will be meeting virtually on Tuesday, April 30 at 7 p.m. CT for a discussion of Kitchen Arabic by Joe Geha.

Kitchen Arabic
Joe Geha

Immigrant children first speak the language of their mothers, and in Toledo, Ohio’s Little Syria neighborhood where Joseph Geha grew up, the first place he would go to find his mother was the kitchen. “Kitchen Arabic” is part memoir, part cookbook, illustrating the journey of Geha’s early years in America, and the family recipes and stories that he cherishes.

You can purchase your copy of the book in person at Dog-Eared books by pre-ordering, or you can have the book shipped to you.
